1939 All Star Game
New York was the place to be in 1939 the Worlds Fair, the Centennial of Baseball in Cooperstown, the All Star Game, Yankees verses Newark Bears at Doubleday Field and the World Series. The perfect time and place could not be planned it just happened everything evolved around New York. The thousands of fans never stopped enjoying every minute, collecting the ephemera to save the memories of this unbelievable year.
The All Star Game played at Yankee Stadium July 11th featured the stars of 1939. The American League with honorary captains Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx and Lefty Gomez went on to win 3 to 1 thanks to Bob Feller and Joe DiMaggio.
